I’m encountering a consistent issue on my Surface Pro 11 (Intel Ultra 7, 32GB) where the Surface app crashes immediately on launch when Bluetooth is enabled, even if no devices are paired.
System details:
- Windows 11 Version 24H2 (Build 26100.1742)
Surface App version: Microsoft.SurfaceHub_75.4100.123.0
Bluetooth driver: Intel Bluetooth 23.120.0.4
Surface Firmware: 25.032.26502.0
(April 2024 MSI)
Steps to reproduce:
Turn Bluetooth ON
Launch Surface app
Crash occurs instantly
If Bluetooth is OFF, the Surface app runs without issue. There are no paired devices at all. This appears to be a software bug inside the Surface app’s device polling logic, likely related to twinapi.appcore.dll
.
Event Viewer:
yamlCopyEditFaulting application name: SurfaceApp.exe, version: 75.4100.123.0
Faulting module name: twinapi.appcore.dll
Exception code: 0xc000027b
I have fully updated Windows, firmware, and Intel drivers. This seems to be a Surface app bug introduced in recent builds. Can Microsoft confirm and patch?I’m encountering a consistent issue on my Surface Pro 11 (Intel Ultra 7, 32GB) where the Surface app crashes immediately on launch when Bluetooth is enabled, even if no devices are paired.
