How many Human Interface Devices?

How many of these HID devices am I supposed to have? There seems to be way too many and many are duplicates. On top of that, there are ones like "HID - Compliant Pen" when my Surface Pen is listed further down. I only checked because my touch screen has been spazzing out lately and registering touches (not pen) that aren't there and I thought I'd reinstall the device. Anyhow, does anyone know what all of these devices actually are?

Thank you for the update. Since you are still having troubles with the touchscreen after proceeding all troubleshooting, you may need to contact Support for further assistance.

Thanks to the nifty XBOX app, you can record videos! Here's what it records when my screen is spazzing out. What this doesn't show is a shaded rectangle that covers the address bar that looks very much like when you are doing a multiple select in file explorer. I could see it, but for some reason it wasn't being recorded. My guess is that it was what the touch screen was registering rather than something.

Hello, and thanks for the reply. So far, I've tried cleaning the screen, restarting, re-calibrating, updating, and restoring the surface. The restoration was for a different issue that I've since solved an other way. The touch screen issue remains. Thankfully, I have a type cover and a surface pen to counteract it. Since it's only happened in Win 10 and was not present in 8.1, I am assuming that it is a driver issue. Other people seem to be having the same issue as well.

    Hello sccabrian ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Surface community. We understand that you want to know the reason why the HID devices are duplicating and how many you are supposed to have on your Surface. We believe that these are Windows questions and don't want to move the thread yet to the Windows forum until we fix the touch screen issue.

Could you please try these solutions and let us know about the outcome?
