Surface pro 7 keeps crashing

I was playing jackbox with family on my brand new surface and about every 5 minutes it would randomly crash to black where I would have to turn it back on every time. I have the power options set to keep it on even on battery.

Edit: updated computer and set power settings to never set the computer to hibernate unless I close the lid or hit the power button, so far it hasn't crashed again

Edit 2: checked reliability history, all it says is "Windows was not properly shut down" with no extra details. Though the last one does say that it was a fault in system32/svchost.exe

Hi DevinHilpert,

Thank you for reaching out Microsoft Community. We're sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

It seems like the application driver is kind of corrupted and for us to initially troubleshoot this issue, I would like you to uninstall/reinstall the application.

Once done, please run the system file checker to detect and repair files that are corrupted causing the device operating system to stop working if the issue is not within the app

Run sfc scannow:

Type CMDon the search box next to the Windows icon and run it as administrator. Type sfc /scannowand hit enter.  SFC stands for system file checker and it will detect corrupted drivers and repair it. This also inspects all of the important Windows files on your computer, including Windows DLL files. If System File Checker finds a problem with any of these protected files, it will replace it.

If the issue persists, please download this in-place upgrade to repair any corrupted drivers on your Surface device OS. Just click "Download Tool Now" run and install, then once "Upgrade This PC" appears, just hit Next. This won't delete the files nor the applications that are installed on the Surface device so nothing to worry about.

If this helps, feel free to mark this post as an answer. Otherwise, don't hesitate to respond to this thread if you need further assistance.

Kind Regards,

Crest_Z
