Ctrl+Shift+C Developer Keyboard Shortcut Doesn't Work

I use the Ctrl+Shift+C shortcut almost every day in Chrome. This opens Developer Tools and switches to Element Picker Mode.

This keyboard shortcut does not work in the release version of Microsoft Edge (Version 79.0.309.65 (Official build) (64-bit)) on Windows 10 Pro v1909 (18363.592), both when the main window is focused and when Developer Tools is focused.

How do I know it should be supported? It says so right in the Developer Tools:

I do not have any extensions blocking this shortcut:

How can I fix this, or in what release was this addressed? This is preventing me from switching to Edge from Chrome because it's disrupting my daily development workflow.

    Hi Farah,

Coincidentally, I figured this out when another keyboard shortcut in Visual Studio wasn't working, either.

Turns out, if you install AMD's (utterly terrible) software, they take over all Ctrl+Shift+[Letter] shortcuts - even if they don't do anything. Frustrating and counter-intuitive on their part.

If anyone else is having this problem, please refer to this thread:

    https://community.amd.com/thread/227221

If you delete the registry entries in question, and stop and disable the AMD External Events Utility service, everything starts working again.

Happy to report that this does not appear to be an issue with Edge. :)

    Cheers!

Hello qJake, my name is Farah and I'm an Independent Adviser. I can help you regarding this problem

I've tried this and it works like a charm from my end.

If you want, you can reset Edge by going to this link:

    edge://settings/resetProfileSettings

It will reset search engine, disable extensions and clear cookies, but won't affect saved passwords and favorites, will not be cleared.

Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved

    Cheers!

    Farah
