Backing up DFS server

Hi, we are looking at migrating some of our DFS servers to IaaS VMs, I have come across some documentation that mentions Azure backup does not support dedupe. Can anyone clarify that this means it does not support any volumes that have dedupe enabled? e.g. We would need to turn this off?

We current have around a 40% saving by using dedupe so this could be a big spanner in the works if true.

Thanks!

    Hi,

Disk deduplication isn't supported in Azure for any backup component, this means that if you migrate your DFS server to IaaS VMs, you'll need to disable data deduplication to successfully back up the VMs.

    For more information, see:

    Best regards,
    Leon
