Could someone shine a light on why this folder for certain machines can reach 70-100Gb in size, we have basic Dell 7060 machines which have standard applications such as Office, Adobe Reader etc the anti-virus we use is Kaspersky. I cannot understand why this folder is this large with the small amount of applications we have. If anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful for your input.

    Hi Sam

This is a well reported bug in Windows 10, a developer over on SourceForge has developed a totally free utility (Patch Cleaner) which will clear out all redundant files form that folder safely and regain all that space for you:

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/patchcleaner/

    Hi Sam

Yes, it is a known bug, for some reason on Some Systems that Installer folder can take up most of the hard drive if it is not cleaned out every now and then, there is no definitive understanding of why this happens on some systems and not on others . . .

    Thanks Dave,

I've got the patchcleaner but wasn't aware it was a Windows bug.
