How do I enable my record button so I am able to record a meeting? My record button is not highlighted, and I am not able to click it.

Thank you!!

Hi Diane,

Does the recording indicator show red? If so, it indicates someone else in your meeting has started recording the meeting. And in a meeting, only one recording can be made. So you can also ask the presenters to help you record the meeting.

While if every presenter in this meeting cannot record the meeting, it could be related with Teams meeting policy in Teams admin center. In this scenario, please try to contact the Office 365 admins in your organization to check if the cloud recording is enabled.

Regards,

Marvin

    Hi Marvin,

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I am the meeting organizer, and for some reason, my record button is not highlighted.  I need to record my lessons, and can not figure out how to enable my record button.

    Thank you,

    Diane

    Hi DMQB,

To my knowledge, if your role in the meeting is an attendee, then you don't have the permission to record the meeting. Only organizer and presenter have the permission to do it. For your reference, see Roles in a Teams meeting.

In a meeting, you can check your role in participant panel.

If you're an attendee, you need to ask the meeting organizer or the other presenters to change your role to a presenter before you could record the meeting.

    Regards,

    Marvin
