Hi Team,

Not sure you know how to resolve issue ? It happens to my 1 company laptop (other company's laptop is fine).

Every time I sign out from Teams on desktop and sign in (Okta page pop up), it will get error as below after enter password and approve Okta notified push.

Troubleshooting done

• Uninstall and reinstall Teams = same error

• Connect to F5 VPN and sign in SSO = same error

• Clean up credential manager = same error

• Clean up cookies = same error

• Teams Desktop on other PC = working fine

• Teams on web version = working fine

• Teams on mobile = working fine

Workaround

• Close Teams desktop

• Go to %appdata%/Microsoft/Teams and delete all folders

• Launch Teams desktop again, it will access to Teams without asking for sign in Okta (bypass Okta)

But again if I sign out and sign in, the same error will come back.

Remark

• If I shut down laptop without sign out Teams desktop and I restart laptop, it can access to Teams without asking  for sign in Okta (bypass Okta)

• But if I sign out Teams desktop and restart laptop, the same error will come back when try to launch Teams desktop.

We finally found the root cause is from Okta plug in that's on Google Chrome extension. Perhaps it stored wrong credential which I might accidentally key in.

After I disable Okta plug in, it's resolved. Now I've already removed Okta plug in out.

Thanks.

    Hi Voravut Petcharayutporn,

Thank you very much for your detailed screenshot and troubleshooting steps. I removed your domain to protect your privacy. Your understanding is highly appreciated.

Based on my experiences and researches, there are many factors that can cause this error in Teams, Honestly we cannot find the exact root cause but since you mentioned that it works on other computers, I believe this might related to one specific device. Here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try to see if they can help:

    1. To rule out IP or connection problems. Please kindly make sure the Office IP address and URL are not in your firewall’s blocklist.
    2. You mentioned that you already tried cleaning up cookies. May I know if the cookies in IE? If not, please also try to clean it via IE and make sure the cookies are enabled in IE.
    3. Try to Run Teams “Run as administrator” to see if it can help.
    4. You can also try to create a new Windows profile to rule out profile problems.

Besides, if the TLS is disabled in your IE, it might also cause this problem, you can follow the below steps to enable TLS 1.2 to check the results:

    1. Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options.
    2. Select the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Security section.
    3. Check to see if you have TLS 1.1 enabled, TLS 1.2 enabled (checked).  If not, check the box to enable it.
    4. Select OK and close Internet Explorer.

If you have any updates after trying the above methods, please feel free to post back.

    Best Regards,

    Sylvie
