Using Microsoft Teams to increase data sharing

I have a question that someone may be able to help with.

We work with a lot of folks outside of our organization as part of a standards committee. Currently we have set it up where we share access to various sharepoint folders that these members work with often but it is not as smooth as it could be. Keeping track of tasks, updating to-do lists, and sharing information has become more complicated. If we were to make a Teams channel and move all the folders to the new channel, would this in theory make sharing easier? I assume that in these instances we could then use MS Lists to create action item lists or Planner to help assign various tasks?

I appreciate the feedback.

    Dear GHQ_RI16,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

Yes, creating a Teams channel and moving all the folders to the new channel can make sharing easier. With Teams, you can collaborate with external users by adding them as guests to the team. This way, they can access the channel and the folders you have shared with them.

In addition, you can use MS Lists to create action item lists and Planner to assign various tasks. Teams also has a built-in task management feature called "Tasks" that you can use to create and assign tasks to team members.

Overall, using Teams can streamline your collaboration efforts and make it easier to keep track of tasks, update to-do lists, and share information with external team members.

I hope the information helps! If there is any update or I misunderstand you, please feel free to let me know. I will continue to assist you. Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated.

Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day.

    Sincerely,
