Remote Desktop Black Screen

I have been using RDP from home to access my office desktop computer for many months. Just the other day, I try to RDP and I am presented with a black screen, and then am disconnected after a very short while. The office desktop screen now also "refreshes" or flickers every 10 seconds.
I have updated Windows 10 Pro to the latest version 20H2, updated the display adaptor driver, cleaned out temporary files, defragged etc. I have also read many threads on the problem. However, most of the discussion is at least 2 years old.
One of the threads refers to Cumulative Update KB4512941 however, that surely would have been included in later Windows updates.
So, the bottom lines is I cannot RDP at the moment. Can anyone help, please?
