How to Update SCOM2016 Agent

Hi,

Our company have been deloyed System Center OM 2016, and I am trying to manually install the agent on a PC by using MOMAgent.msi.
But I can see the verison is 8.0.10918.0.

Could you please let me know how to update to the latest verison? I tried to click MOMAgent.mis one more time but it do not show any 'update' button, only 'remove' or 'repair'.
It is the same when I make it via command line "msiexec /i path\Directory\MOMAgent.msi /qn /l*v %temp%\OMAgentUpgrade.log AcceptEndUserLicenseAgreement=1".
Why I cannot install to the newest verison directly by MOMAgent.msi? The installation file I use is in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2016\Operations Manager\Server\AgentManagement\amd64".

Hi,

I think I can answer this. The MOMAgent.msi is sued only to install the Agent in its generic version. Each Update Rollup has its own Agent Update file, which needs to be installed on top of the MOMAgent.msi.
So the order looks like this: You first install the MOMAgent.msi and then apply the KBXXXXXX.msp file to update the agent to the latest version.
In the case of SCOM 2016, you can install the agent (MOMAgent.msi) and then update it to the latest (Update Rollup 9) version with the file "KB4546986-AMD64-Agent.msp"
