    Hi Michael,

Sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused.

I checked the two installation packages given in the link, the accessdatabaseengine.exe file is downloaded as a 32-bit installation package on my side.

I would like to confirm with you whether you have checked the other installation package, i.e. accessdatabaseengine_X64.exe file. If so, are there any differences between them?

And to further check it, we would like to collect the Access version you’ve installed. After starting any Office app, click on File > Account, please take a screenshot of the Product Information pane and share it with us.

    Appreciate your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Madoc

    Hi Madoc,

Thanks for checking, I see now my problem is to do with both Access and Excel binary. I have an application called Alteryx that connects with data from both of these sources but now I am getting the same connection error. I never had this issue before (over 3years) but recently upgraded Alteryx and now the connection doesnt work 80% of the time.  The Microsoft Access Database Engine patch helped me before so I thought I would try redownloading it but now I think that is not the issue

The error normally says "root now found after 30000 milliseconds"

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Michael
