Cannot open image attachments from Onenote - Android

Hello All,

I am using the latest version of OneNote on my Android device.

I am also subscribed to MS 365.

I have several notes which have image attachments in them. When I tap on the images inside the note, I get an option to "Open" the attachment (see below).

But, when I tap on "Open", I get the following error message -

I most definitely have image viewer/gallery apps installed on my device. Therefore, this message is not correct.

I need to download image attachments from the ON Notes and share them elsewhere. How do I do that on Android?

What you have omitted from your problem description is the file type of your attached image.

    Dear Rohit,

I am Renzo, as an Independent Advisor and Office user, I'll help you with your question.

In my case when I tap an attached image from a notebook, immediately it open the image.

You could try with following process:

    1. Tap and hold OneNote app > App info > in bottom tap "Clear data" > All data, then uninstall OneNote App
    2. Restart your Android mobile > then open Play Store find latest OneNote version and install it, next sign in with your Office personal account.

Besides, In your default internet browser in your mobile, remove all cache and navigation history.

    1. You can change default apps in Android to open files, also you can reset all apps, take a look at below link to how to reset de default app to open specific type of file in your Android.
