Can't change the date inside a VM machine without it reverting back

After disabling the automatic date-time synchronization with the internet inside my windows VM machine, and setting the date manually to some value in the past- the date automatically changes back to the original value.

I read this documentation and ran the following command:

w32tm /dumpreg /subkey:Parameters | findstr /i "type"

and got this results:

Value Name                 Value Type          Value Data  
Type                       REG_SZ              NoSync

which I assume is as it should be, but I still can't set the date manually without it reverting back

I might need some additional information in order to help you out further.

Can you please confirm When does the time reset?

Have you already checked the event logs? What does the event logs say?

If not done already you can follow below steps:

Hover mouse over bottom left corner of desktop to make the Start button appear

Right click on the Start button and select Control Panel > System Security and double-click Administrative Tools

Double-click Event Viewer

Select the type of logs that you wish to review (ex: Application, System)

If there is any specific error you can see in the event logs please share here.
