Encryption Scope for ADLS Gen 2 Storage Account

It seems that encryption scope for ADLS Gen2 storage account is not yet supported. Here is the scenario:

  1. I created a storage account by enabling hierarchical storage and infrastructure encryption
  2. Created three encryption scopes at storage account level: default, data-type1, data-type2
  3. Tried creating a container with encryption scope as data-type1

I get an error saying that specified feature is not yet supported for hierarchical storage.

Is there a plan to support encryption scope feature for ADLS Gen2 storage? What is the timeline for its GA?

    @Gupta, Rajesh Encryption Scopes on ADLS Gen2 will be available very soon (public preview), We currently do not have any ETA on this, It’s going to be updated soon, You may subscribe to notifications to stay informed through Azure updates
