Dear MS Team

I have received an email from following address "******@accountprotection.microsoft.com" with subject "Your single-use code"

The email body looks something like "We received your request for a single-use code to use with your Microsoft account."

I did not request anything and thereof I assume this is wrong / spam / scam ... but the sender address looks authentic and I would appreciate a confirmation from Microsoft this request went unauthorized without my consent.

I will highly appreciate your swift and kind reply.

Kind regards

Maricela G

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Microsoft has implemented several security measures to protect user accounts from unauthorized access and potential threats. However, in some situations, you may still receive emails like this, which can make it seem as though your account is not secure.

So, it is recommended to visit your Microsoft Account Recent Activity page to check for any suspicious activity:

    https://account.microsoft.com/security

    If you notice anything unusual,

Click "This wasn't me" to report the activity to Microsoft or you will be guided to secure your account.

Regardless, we strongly recommend taking the following steps to protect your account:

    • Reset your Microsoft account password.
    • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for added security.

Let me know if you still need more help.
