    You cannot:

1- There's no upgrade path from Windows 8 to Windows 11. You need to have Windows 8.1.

2- Hardware old enough to be on a computer running Windows 8 will certainly not be eligible for a Windows 11.

Hi, I'm Bernard. I'm happy to help!

To upgrade to Windows 11, here's what you need to do:

Check the minimum system requirements of Windows 11 before upgrading to make sure that your device can handle Windows 11, or run a PC Health Check to automatically detect if the PC is compatible.

    Run PC Health check: https://aka.ms/GetPCHealthCheckApp

    Windows 11 System Requirements
Processor 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or System on a Chip (SoC).
    RAM 4 gigabytes (GB)
Storage 64 GB or larger storage device. See More information on storage space to keep Windows 11 up-to-date for more details.
System firmware UEFI, Secure Boot capable. Check here for information on how your PC might be able to meet this requirement.
TPM Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0. Check here for instructions on how your PC might be enabled to meet this requirement.
Graphics card Compatible with DirectX 12 or later with WDDM 2.0 driver.
Display High definition (720p) display that is greater than 9” diagonally, 8 bits per color channel.

If the PC is all good and can upgrade to Windows 11, you need to purchase a Windows 11 license from here:

    For Windows 11 Home: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/d/windows-11-home/dg7gmgf0krt0

    For Windows 11 Pro: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/d/windows-11-pro/dg7gmgf0d8h4

You can purchase the downloadable version or a physical USB drive for Windows 11.

If you purchased the downloadable version, you just need to follow the prompts to download and install Windows 11 or do the in-place upgrade by following the steps from here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4252110/how-to-run-in-place-upgrade-in-windows-11?forum=windows-all&referrer=answers
