I want to enter a payment method using BCA (Bank Central Asia), my card is a master card (Paspor Blue debit) and has been connected to Steam and Google Playstore and I have successfully shopped there using my card, why can't I add my card at MSstore? even though all the data is valid and the expiry date is still long

Several factors can cause a valid debit MasterCard (such as BCA Paspor Blue) to be rejected by Microsoft Store even if it works on Steam or Google Play:

    1. Region and card-issuer rules
Not all payment methods are supported in all regions. For Microsoft accounts and Microsoft Store, the payment method must match the country/region of the Microsoft account profile. If the card’s issuing country/region does not match the country/region set on the Microsoft account, the card can be declined.
      • To add a payment method for another country, the account’s country/region must be changed first under Your info → Edit profile info, then add the card again from the Payment options page.
    2. Bank or network restrictions / security checks
Banks and financial institutions may block or challenge some online transactions (for example, international or recurring payments) even if the card works on other platforms. Some banks require extra verification before allowing the transaction. Keeping bank, card, and Microsoft account contact details up to date helps these checks succeed.
    3. Card type and acceptance rules
Microsoft does not support all card types in all countries. Some regions only support credit cards, or only specific brands or debit implementations. Even if the card is a MasterCard debit, it may not be accepted for Microsoft Store in that region.
    4. Incorrect or mismatched card details
The name, address, and CVV must match exactly what the bank has on file. When adding the card on the Payment options page, ensure:
      • Card number, expiry date, and CVV are correct.
      • Billing address (including postal code) matches the bank record. If the card is not accepted, try entering the postal code with and without spaces.
    5. General payment-option issues
If the card still cannot be added, try:
      • Checking for overdue subscriptions on the Services & subscriptions page and resolving any past-due balances.
      • Ensuring the Microsoft account is not locked or suspended.
      • Verifying that antivirus or browser settings are not blocking payment pop-ups or confirmation windows.

If all details are correct and the card continues to be rejected, the supported next steps are:

    • Contact the bank (BCA) to confirm the card is enabled for international and online transactions and that they are not blocking Microsoft payments.
    • Try a different supported payment method (another credit/debit card, PayPal, or mobile phone billing if available in the region).
    • If the issue persists only with Microsoft Store, use the guided support or contact Microsoft billing support from the account dashboard for case-specific investigation.
