iSCSI Storage (Disk Resource) remaining offline after iSCSI network failure

Hello, I have a question about the typical behavior of a Disk Resouce in an FC.

Setup:
2-node failover cluster
1 file server resource
1 shared disk (via iSCSI initiator)

All failover/failback actions work fine, verification of cluster is also fine.
I wanted to simulate a failure of the iSCSI storage (hard disconnect of 10G networking).

Once unplugged, node-1 will retry as per policy and then failover to node-2 which will also do its retries.
Then, the Disk shows as Status = Offline.

After some time, I reconnect the 10G cabling but the Disk remains in Offline state.
If I click Bring Online within FC, it works fine.

So my question is, is this normal behavior for an FC? Shouldn't the disk come back online when network is connected again?

Thanks for any insight on this.

Alex

    Hi,

I did a test in my lab, however, since we using VMs to create the lab, I can't simulate a network adapter disconnection, so I just disconnect the virtual disk in the ISCSI server. After disconnecting the virtual disk on the ISCSI server, the CSV offline, while when I re-enable the virtual disk, the CSVs is online automatically:

For a test, please try to disable the virtual disk on the ISCSI server on your side, check if the CSV can't online automatically too? This can help to check if the cluster has some issues to bring back the CSV.
