I installed the VPN client on my Azure VM. As soon as I connect the VPN, my Remote Desktop connection gets terminates . I assume there is routing we can create that will enable the VM to see the VPN and the RDP path. Would you be able to provide some guidance.

The VPN is Junos Pulse.

Thank you in advance.

    Hi @Sun

I have no idea about Junos specific configuration but you need to enable something called Split tunneling. This feature will make sure all LAN network traffic will go trough the Juniper VPN and internet traffic use the regular Azure VM routing and Gateway.

I did some research, it seems you can enable this under the user role ---> network connect tab.

In addition, you have to create a split tunneling resource policy and define the network range you want going through the tunnel. By default, JunOS pulse will add a default route into your routing table.

I am having the same issue. I RDP into my Azure Windows 10 virtual machine, then I connect to a VPN while inside of the VM (viewing and doing this over RDP). The VPN connection initiated inside my VM is successful, but then this causes my RDP session and viewer to terminate.

There have been posts close to this issue, but I've not seen one with enough guidance to resolve the issue.
