According a previous post :
[https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/b768d2b9-3567-4bc9-9144-9839ee16db6b/scom-2007-r2-gateway-reconfiguration-is-it-possible-to-change-the-management-group-a-gateway-is?forum=operationsmanagergeneral][1]

=> Changing management group on a SCOM Gateway server is not possible
=> Only solution is to uninstall Gateway server and reinstall new version

As this post is quite old, can somebody confirm me this assumption is still valid ?

Thank you for your help

As pre Crystal-MSFT said, the gateway server is kind of the SCOM management servers and you does not just change it reporting to different management group. The available option is reinstall gateway server.

    Hi @Ivan Renoud-Grappin ,

Yes, this is true, once you have installed a Gateway, its Management Group affiliation cannot be chnaged. You need to reinstall it.
When you install it again, consider that on the Gateway you have a certificate, so that it can talk to the "old" management group. In case you re-install it, your GW needs to talk to the "new" management group and this might require installing and importing (MOMCertImport) a new certificate.
