We've tried a few third party migration tools and it created a mess in Microsoft Teams for the direct messages.

We ended up using a tool called Altosio. They offer a neat way to migrate Direct messages from Slack to Teams, preserving the metadata, attachments, fonts and formatting.

We've also used them to migrate our private and public Slack channels over to Microsoft Teans.
