Hi All,
I need some help in recovering SCCM DB access,
In my organization we have SCCM CB 2010 application with DB installed on the same server. Previously the sql server was running on account A which had sysadmin, but somehow that account is deleted.
Now I have only account B which has Public access and sa which is disabled. I am unable to add any server roles "sysadmin" or any new account with sysadmin access which is causing the issue in WSUS syncing
"Could not open SQL connection" under WCM log.
I am unable to backup the sql DB manually also. Is this a dead end or can i retrieve. Please advice

How the account has been deleted?
Did you setup any other account?
Are you seeing any message like account does not exist or username and password are incorrect?

This article from Microsoft: Connect to SQL Server when system administrators are locked out has the instructions for how to resolve this situation.
What do you mean it was running under a different account? What account are you talking about exactly? Sql execution account or cm accessing the Sql db? Or are you talking about who install Sql sever and cm? Did you do a site reset? We need a lot more details to exactly what you are talking about?
Yes the account is deleted and there is no SYSADMIN account in SCCM DB. Also sa account is disabled
Actually i am working on some site component issues in which I found the error under WCM stating "could not open the DB". I will try Erland suggestions and let me know if there is any other options to retrieve
Since you have not really answer most of the question nd it sounds like you are moving on to another problem.,i would define exactly what problem you are trying to solve. Give details as to what you have done to fix it.

as I understand Karthki's post, it is a plain SQL Server problem, and there is no direct relation to SCCM at this point. SCCM is just "the application".
But it is possible that once Karthik has been able to create a sysadmin user, he might guidance on SCCM level, and that is the point where you will have to take over. I know SQL Server, but not SCCM.

As Erland specified, its SQL issue. Once it is recovered hopefully SCCM also will work fine. To answer your questions
What do you mean it was running under a different account? When i logged on to SCCM server. In SQL configuration manager, under MSSQLSERVER - Logon account is account A.
What account are you talking about exactly? When I opened SSMS, there is no account A added or could be deleted. Or not account as SYSADMIN access, sa is disabled

Did you do a site reset? Not Yet Mr. Garth, Do you suggest this brings the deleted account
