Restored VM missing Microsoft Hyper-V network adapter

Hi

I did a full back up of VM 1 from inside. I turned off the VM 1. Created a new VM 2 and 'bare metal' restored the VM 1 backup into it. The new VM 2 came up OK but the Microsoft Hyper-V network adapter is coming up as Unknown Device in device manager. I removed and added the 'network card' again to VM 2 settings. No luck. I created a VM 3 and attached the VM 2 virtual disk to it, still no luck with Microsoft Hyper-V network adapter. How can I get the Microsoft Hyper-V network adapter in the VM please?

    Hi,
    What's your hyper-v host OS? Try to create a new virtual switch and add a new virtual network adapter connected to the new vswitch, then check if it could be recognized.

    Hello,

    You may have a ghost adapter :-) Remove the virtual NIC from the virtual switch and boot up in safe mode. From there, open device manager and select view -> hidden devices to look for the adapter and remove it.
