A DNS error on our domain controllor

I got DNS error as below :

Event 4015, DNS-Server-Service: “The DNS server has encountered a critical error from the Active Directory. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly. The extended error debug information (Which may be empty) is “”. The event data contains the error.”

How can I fix it?

    Thanks for your update.

    Based on my knowledge, DNS 4015 error is a quite common event which can be generated in a Microsoft DNS server and normally it won’t cause any functionality issue from DNS perspective.

    For Event 5504, it can be safely ignored since it was due to the default design, the option “Secure cache against pollution” on Advanced tab of DNS server properties.

    By default, the Secure cache against pollution option is enabled. This setting allows the DNS server to protect its cache against referrals that are potentially polluting or non-secure. When the setting is enabled, the server caches only those records with a name that corresponds to the domain for which the original queried name was made. Any referrals received from another DNS server along with a query response are simply discarded.

    Thanks for posting in Q&A platform.

    Before we go further, may I know if the impacted DNS server can work normally?

    Since the description of the event 4015 is "The DNS server has encountered a critical error from the Active Directory", this error may happened with other AD DS issues, could you please help to confirm whether the AD DS is functioning properly?

    Based on my knowledge, the Event 4015 may because the DNS server started up before the netlogon service.

    Please try to change the DNS service startup type to "Automatic (Delayed Start)" on DNS server. Then please reboot the DNS server to check if the Event 4015 still occurred.
