Hi,
I copied the vhdx disk of win2012R2 VM (DC) on Win2012R2 Hyper-V server to Win10 Hyper-V locally created VM. Everything is fine, the server is running, but I can't log in. The password is incorrect. Try again. The same username and password are OK on the original VM. The local VM on Win10 is disconnected from the network. I'm trying to test possible recovery after a hardware disaster, so I don't know is it possible?
Best Regards
Zeljko

    Hi,

Instead of copying the VM, please try to export the VM from Server 2012 r2 host and import to Windows 10 host, check if it could work to start and login the VM successfully.

    Thanks for your time!
    Best Regards,

    Anne

    Hi Anne,
thanks for the help, it works now on Win10 Hyper-V and I can log in.
Can you give me any advice on migrating Win2012R2 Hyper-V VM-s to Win2019 Hyper-V or I have to open a new question?
Is it better to make copies of VM-s with new ID when migrating or to keep the same ID? I have a plan to migrate all VM-s to the new Win2019 Hyper-V server, then remove win2012R2 and install a fresh new Win2019 server with Hyper-V. Finally I would like to establish replication on both servers.?
    With Best Regards

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply and advice. I already tried the live migration but it didn't work. Now the win2019 server has a hardware failure and I wait for the new system board.
Next time I will also open a new case on the forum :-)
Thanks for your time and support.
    With Best Regards
    Zeljko
