MS Teams microphone doesn't work on openSuSE 15.1 running on IBM Thinkpad

Hi support,

on my IBM Thinkpad laptop I run openSuSE 15.1; there are several software program that uses camera, microphone and speakers - all they work perfectly:

SKY
Skype (native version)
Skype web version (from chrome)
whatsapp web version (from chrome)
teams web version (from chrome)
....

All them uses perfectly camera, speakers and microfone
Teams "native" client (1.3.00.16851-1, last available) don't: when I have a phone call microphone doens't work and my voice is not heard

I've already checked several blog reporting same issue - i.e. pulseaudio is up and running (automatically started by my user)

What still could I check?

Can your Teams for Linux client recognize your microphone device normally?

If your microphone is always silence, we recommend you open KDE Settings > Multimedia >Audio Volume >Applications to check your settings for Microsoft Teams.

Besides, we recommend you try to reinstall your Teams client manually to see if works for you. For more details about how to install Teams for Linux, you can learn it from:

Hallo Jimmy,

Teams client recognize my microphone but test call fail - recording message doesn't work.
My desktop manager is XFCE, here I've already check microphone volume; what I see "strange" is following: when I start a phone call with Team client I see in PAVCONTROL Team microphone but this control is read-only, I mean I cannot move slower nor higher

I've also tried to start Team client as "root"... and it works, test call records my message

I confirm that using Team client as webapp in chrome works perfectly

Hallo Jimmy, an additional info: if I start teams with my own userid panel for device configuring behaves differently from starting teams as root.
In detail, that's the popup shown for my own userid

and that the panel shown for root:

What is your version of Teams for Linux?

I am so interested about start Teams as root. According to your description, it seems if you start Teams as root, this issue will be solved by itself. Can you share me more details about how to start Teams as root? Thanks in advance!

teams version is "teams-1.3.00.16851-1.x86_64"

As far as I remember:

I've opened a shall with command: su -

than from that root session I've started: chrome (for importing my own certificate)

then, always as root, I've started: teams

Unfortunately at the moment I cannot repeat mentioned steps as since 2 days ago teams doesn't start anymore for a strange problems with cookies

Hallo Jimmy, is there any news on microphone issue? I know that it should be a very particular case, many of my Linux colleague have no problem

Meanwhile I have to use the web access version, unfortunately browser does not "ding" when a message or a phone call arrives, so the usage is not easy
