Azure Static Web App with Managed Functions cannot find module

I have a monorepo that contains 5 packages in total:

frontend
backend
library 1
library 2
library 3

The backend uses the libraries. Whenever I emulate the SWA everything works fine but whenever I deploy the application, I get the error:

The module rimraf is installed and included in the package.json of the backend. Whenever I remove the line that uses rimraf, it gives the same error with another dependency called 'node-gyp', which is not even a dependency of my project, but a dependency of one of my dependencies.

I deployed the application using Azure SWA CLI, and whatever I do, I cannot get rid of the error.

Command used to emulate the SWA: swa start --app-location ./packages/frontend --api-location ./packages/backend --output-location ./dist

Command used to deploy the SWA: swa deploy --app-location ./packages/frontend --api-location ./packages/backend --output-location ./dist

Is the repo public? It would be great if we can see the source. If not, can you please share the contents of package.json files (omitting any sensitive content)?

What’s likely the problem is your function app references packages that are installed outside the function app folder (such as in a parent node_modules folder). Currently, the deployment deploys the contents of the function app folder, so any dependencies that are outside of that won’t be deployed.

First of all, thanks for the suggestion! I also thought that was the case which is why I tried to copy the node_modules folder from root to the backend package containing the serverless functions. I also tried to copy the package-lock.json from root to the backend package. Both methods did not work sadly.

When typing this message I noticed I didn't try both methods at the same time (so copying both node_modules and package-lock)... After doing that it works! I copied the node_modules and package-lock from the root of the project to the backend package where all the serverless functions are and everything seems to work as intended. This solution isn't very elegant though as copying the node_modules takes quite some time. Do you have a solution which is more efficient?

I am currently working in the feat/execute-report-on-frontend branch. Other branches don't have the latest frontend changes, so I would recommend using that branch also.
