Orchestrator 2022 Failed to CoCreate IOpalisServerExtension

Dear,

I got the Orchestrator 2022 running but on the Query XML activity I get the error Failed to CoCreate IOpalisServerExtension
Anybody an idea why this is?

@frank Stanssens If you could open a case. we have a hotfix that we can provide, it should be incorportated into UR3 when it comes out.

But if you want a fix now, please open a Case with Microsoft and we can provide that hotfix.

Hi Stefan, could you show me the way to reproduce this issue? Or are there any found to resolve this issue beside UR and hotfix update?

I opened a support case with Microsoft and they have confirmed that both the Query XML and Monitor File activity issues are bugs so we'll have to wait until they release an update for Orchestrator

We had the same issue / error with the File Monitor task on a fresh installed SCORCH 2022 environment. After also contacting Microsoft Support to know if this is a known issue and if there is maybe a workaround, they confirmed that this issue is resolved in Update Rollup 1 of SCORCH 2022.

Even though it is not listed in the Release Notes of UR1, I can now confirm that the issue is resolved. At least for our use case with the "File Monitor" task.

This issue was completely unexpected. Not only does this activity not work, but also there is no data manipulation Integration Pack. I hope there is a resolution to the issue. For now, I have had to re-write some of these monitor file runbooks as PowerShell scripts and do a simple test-path to return a parameter on a scheduled basis. Definitely not ideal. I would be curious as to when these will be fixed.

The Data Manipulation Integration Pack was an Open Source IP released by an individual not Microsoft onto an old Microsoft source forge called CodePlex. The IP wasn't updated and CodePlex is no longer available.

Kelverion developed a Data Manipulation IP for customers who wanted a Supported product to use with Orchestrator. This product is available for Orchestrator 2022 and would also provides a fix for the XPath Query issue as it supports multi-point XML Parsing and Composing in a single activity.

The Data Manipulation Integration Pack wasn't produced by Microsoft, it was developed by an individual and released as OpenSource onto an old Microsoft source forge CodePlex. The IP hadn't been updated for many years and CodePlex itself was closed in 2017 and deleted in 2021.

Kelverion developed a Data Manipulation Integration Pack for Companies who wanted a vendor supported IP for doing data manipulation. This IP is available for Orchestrator 2022. It would also help with the xPath Query issue as it supports multiple value XML Parsing from within a single activity and does XML Composing.
