Why are all the Networking Interfaces depreciated?
I'd love to be able to hook into the OE new message handler, similarly to Outlook's

We are documenting the interfaces for use on Windows XP with OE6. They are there and should work correctly.
We will change the interfaces as necessary in future versions. Therefore, we are telling you NOW that these will change.
At the bottom of each of the deprecated interfaces / function pages is something like:
Note The ISMTPTransport::InitNew method is available for use in Microsoft® Windows® XP. It might be altered or unavailable in subsequent versions.Anonymous

I've received a couple of questions regarding OE. They are generally of the form : "Can I do something complex with the OE SDK?" or "Do you have a good sample?".
One of the best resources available are the Microsoft MVPs. Many of these extremely knowledgeable people hang out at the newsgroup microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpressAnonymous
