New sample: SplitButton
Now that the toolstrip has a split button, everyone seems to want one for their form too. While you could tweak out the ToolStripRenderer to do this, it's probably just best to use the ButtonRenderer class on your own custom button. The following sample shows how to use the ButtonRenderer class to create your own custom button.

That's all nice and whatnot, but what purpose does this control serve? I can't think of where this would be a useful control that doesn't confuse the user on a HCI front, where a regular ComboBox would not suffice.
Developer have a habit of using controls just because they look cool, not because they provide something useful.
I would rather see controls like Rich Combo Boxes, Rich Lists Views, or Virtual Tree Views and Virtual List Views, which there seems to be a complete lack of. - Anonymous
