Boston Hackathon - April 13 and 14th
You don't have to run 26.2 miles to go the distance! In fact you don’t even have to break a sweat or wear special shoes.
With the first ever Boston Hackathon, sponsored by Telerik and Nokia, you’ll have the opportunity to learn all about building Windows Phone 8 apps and the opportunity (and encouragement) to reach the finish line - an app in the store - via a day-long hackathon with continuous access to platform experts.
This is great chance to dive into the platform and learn from an expert: successful Windows Phone Developer, and Nokia Ambassador – Lance McCarthy – as he takes you through the basics and shows you how to create unique experiences using features like the camera, maps, and proximity sensors like NFC and Bluetooth.
There will be plenty of time on both Saturday and Sunday to get down to work, plenty of space to spread out, and plenty of food and refreshments to fuel your efforts.
And even better, prizes and giveaways throughout, including:
Hackathon winners will get
1st place: Surface RT and a Nokia Lumia 920
2nd place: $250 cash and a Nokia Lumia 822
3rd place: $100 cash and a Nokia Lumia 620
Every developer who publishes and app to the Windows Phone Store will get
$100 per app (up to $1000) via Microsoft’s Keep the Cash campaign
a Nokia Lumia 800
Every developer who submits an app for the hackathon will get
a Nokia Premium Developer Program token, a $1500 value that includes the $99 Windows Phone developer account,
entry to the Nokia DVLUP membership rewards program
You don’t have to come in first to win, but you do have to come!
