Multi-selecting emails in Hotmail

Although I love the new features of the updated Hotmail, one thing that has confused me is my inability to multi-select emails by clicking one email and then Shift-clicking additional emails (as you would do in almost any application that supports multiple selections). Doing so just opens my last selection in a new window.

It turns out, it is still possible… you just have to do it in the area where the checkboxes are, not where the subject line of the email is.  Good times.  Hope this helps someone out in case I was not the only person to be confused by this :)
