Do not find "Site template" in SharePoint 2010

We all know that in order to reuse a site template in 2010, we save a site as a template. Now once we save it as a template, you should be able to see it in the "Site Templates" gallery under site settings. In order to reuse it, we activate the feature and that should be it. And when you use the Create site option you should be able to see it.

But wait, sometimes even after doing all of those you would not be able to see it under create site. Why ?

Here is why --> You would also need the site template to be enabled under the "Page Layout and Site Template" settings under site settings, which looks something like this :

But wait, sometimes when you go to Site settings page you do not find the option "Page Layout and Site Template" settings by default. What do you do then ? Well simple : append /_layouts/areatemplatesettings.aspx at the end of the URL

Please note that in order to have this you would have to have publishing feature enabled.
