How to take a screenshot capture of a single window in windows 7

ctrl-alt-printscreen

Apparently most people have known this for years, but I never needed it when I was growing up in front of a unix command line. Now I use it every day.

And of course, [printscreen] to copy the image of the whole screen into the clipboard. And on Windows 7, click on the bottom-left Windows logo start button thingy and type “snip” into the “Search programs and files” box, and it’ll find the screen capture Snipping Tool lickety-split.

Or you could just hold ALT as you press PrtScn and it just saves your selected window.

Ahhh!! You saved my life!! I switched computers (same exact Windows 7 program) however, at my new computer the keys I used to use to snap a 'specific selection on the screen' (windows key + s) no longer worked...go figure O_o This is an extra step....but hey, it worked. Thanks from the Sunshine State!

If you save the Snipping Tool on your Task Bar it's even easier to get to.
