A really cool technical demo...

Since I can't talk too much about how we're doing everything yet, here's a link to a really cool technical demo for the game Shadow of the Colossus.  This is by far one of the most interesting looking (and interesting concept) games I've seen for the PS2 (except for maybe Katamari).  Aside from the bad anti-aliasing and texture twinkling in the distance, this game has got a great feel and this demo shows some of the neat tricks they used to attain that feel.  It's the same team that brought us Ico, which was another huge techincal leap for the PS2 when it first came out.

Sorry, no video. But a lot of cool screenshots and desciptions of how they did things. Check out the description and images in regards to how they faked HDR on the PS2. Also, the dual pendulum, plus add motion, plus IK creates some of the most amazing "holding-on-for-dear-life" animation I have ever seen in a game.
