MUI and UICulture

My parents are going to stay with us this coming summer. Besides all the preparations for their visit, I need to reconfigure my PC. They cannot operate my English XP and I don’t like to format my hard disk and reinstall a Chinese XP for them. Essentially we need a simple solution so that I can read English and they can read Chinese on the same box. There is a simple solution called MUI .  MUI  is the OS to support multiple UI locales. User can choose his/her favorite language on a MUI  system.

MUI  is a good way to go if you want to write some multiple lingual applications, however not a perfect one. First you need to drop your resources to system folder. Secondly it requires professional or server version of OS.

In the managed world, writing multi-lingual application becomes much easier. UICulture is well supported in the platform along with many other cool globalization features. Writing a localizable application is easy; some good samples are just a few clicks away.
