Data managers or IT admins need to configure settings in Azure portal and Store operations admin portal to enable copilot template for store operations or AI store operations in Store operations.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites to deploy copilot template for store operations are:

  • Deploy Store operations solution before you deploy copilot template for store operations as it is a dependency. For detailed steps, see Deploy Store operations.

  • Administrator permissions in Power Apps (Azure Subscription owner role) and System Administrator permissions in Store operations.

  • Ensure that regions and resource names used across Azure Blob Storage, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI etc. are same. Currently, some of these features like Azure Cognitive Services are available in NA region. Select a region from Azure Products by Region.

Deploy AI store operations package

Note

During public preview, you can deploy the copilot template for store operations only through the Microsoft Cloud Solution Center.

  1. Go to Microsoft Cloud Solution Center to start deployment process.

  2. In the left pane, select Retail Cloud. You see a list of capabilities and solutions for Microsoft Cloud for Retail. To learn more about each one, select Quick view.

  3. Select Add checkbox in the Copilot template for store operations tile and select Deploy.

Screenshot shows the Copilot template for store operations tile.

  4. The Setup a solution workflow is displayed. In Step 1 Additional components page, select the AI Store Assistant ARM Template checkbox. Select Next.

    Important

If you don’t select the ARM template at this point, you need to manually deploy the Azure Cognitive Search, Azure Blob Storage Container, and Azure AI Search resources later.

  5. Select the Power Platform environment where the solution needs to be deployed, typically the same environment where Store operations solution is deployed. Select Next

Screenshot shows the deployment workflow step to select Power Platform environment.

  6. Choose an Azure environment and enter the following details.

Screenshot shows the deployment workflow step to select Azure environment.

    • Subscription: Select Azure OpenAI subscription.

    • Resource group: Use an existing resource group or create a new resource group.

    • Resource base name: Provide any name. This name is used as a prefix for the deployed resources/models.

    • Location: Select a suitable location from the drop-down.

    Select Next when you're done.

  7. Review the deployment summary and make sure it's correct. Read the terms and conditions and the preview terms, and agree to them by selecting the checkbox. Then select Next.

Screenshot shows the deployment summary workflow.

  8. In this step, the workflow checks for dependencies. You need to Deploy Store operations before you install AI store operations. If you have Store operations, you see a green check mark next to it. Select Deploy to start the deployment process.

Screenshot shows the workflow to check dependencies.

The deployment process initiates automatically and progress is displayed. Deployment might take some time (~30 minutes in some instances). Post that, you can see the successful or failed deployment message.

  9. Verify the deployment in the Azure portal. Go to your resource group and look for these three resources: search service, Azure OpenAI, and Blob Storage.

Screenshot shows the three resources in the resource group.

    Important

Note down the values of the resources. You need these values to link Store operations with Azure OpenAI accounts.

  10. Verify that these three models are deployed automatically in Azure AI Studio: gpt35 turbo, gpt35-turbo-16k, and embedding model. Select Deployments to see the models.

Screenshot shows the three models in Azure AI Studio.

    Important

Note down the values of the models. You need these values to link Store operations with Azure OpenAI accounts.

Congratulations, you successfully deployed copilot template for store operations or AI store operations in Store operations.
