How to Set Targeting Profiles

A targeting profile is a class of business data that contains data that you can target. The most common type of business data is customer data. You can target customers based on their profiles. You can target customers who belong to a particular organization or who use a particular credit card with relevant ads and discounts. You can do this by building expressions based on the customer's profile. You can then target this expression. When creating target expressions, profiles in the "Targeted" list are visible in the "Field" column in Marketing Manager.

Note

To target profiles other than the user object profile, your site developer must change some site code. See your site developer for more information.

To set targeting profiles

  1. Click Start, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 , and then click Marketing Manager.

  2. In Marketing Manager, in the Views pane, click Expressions.

  3. In the Tasks pane, click Set Targeting Profiles.

  4. In the Targeting Profiles screen, in the Profiles box, select the profile you want to target, click Add, and then click OK.
