Commerce Server Performance Counters

This section describes all the performance counters available in Commerce Server. We recommend that you run these counters in System Monitor.

Note

By default, System Monitor is not located in the Console Root in Commerce Server Manager. You can add the System Monitor snap-in to the Console Root by running Commerce Server Manager in authoring mode and then add the new snap-in. For instructions about how to run Commerce Server Manager in authoring mode, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=85902. For instructions about how to add a new snap-in, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=85903.

If you cannot find a performance counter in System Monitor, look in the registry for a value “Disable Performance Counters” under the key for the counter, for example:

HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSMarketingPerf\Performance

If the key has a value of 1, the counters are disabled. Set the value to zero and the performance counters will work again.

For more information about how to enable and disable performance counters, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=86741. For more information about how to use Registry Editor, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=86742.

You will not see data for certain Commerce Server performance counters until you run at least one instance of the component. This applies to Pipeline performance counters that have a unique scheme for instances based on components in the pipeline PCF files. This also applies to Catalog, Catalog Pipeline, Marketing, Orders, and PromoCode Pipeline performance counters that receive an instance for each application domain in which the components are used.

For the Data Warehouse and Analysis object, Commerce Server uses Data Warehouse performance counters only when it imports data such as Web logs, users, and catalogs using Data Transformation Services (DTS) tasks. Therefore, you must set up the Data Warehouse performance counters as anonymous servers.

For the Pipelines object, one instance of each pipeline counter exists for the whole pipeline.
