Choose Location Dialog Box

The Choose Location dialog box enables you to specify the Web site type and location for a new Web site. You can use the Choose Location dialog box to create a Web site on a file system or on your local computer running Internet Information Services (IIS), to open a Web site running on an FTP server, or to create a Web site on a remote computer running IIS.

To access this dialog box

1. In Visual Web Developer, on the File menu, click New Web Site (or on the File menu, click New and then click Web Site).

2. In the New Web Site dialog box, click Browse.

   The Choose Location dialog box opens.

UI Elements

• File System
  Enables you to create or open a file system Web site. For details, see How to: Create File System Web Sites.

• Local IIS
  Enables you to create or open a Web site on your local copy of IIS. For details, see How to: Create a Local IIS Web Site.

• FTP Site
  Enables you to open a Web site running on an FTP server, either locally or on a remote server. For details, see How to: Open Web Sites Using FTP.

• Remote Site
