I noticed this sometime ago too.
To at least make use of it I jump to 'task view', right click the docked window and opt to show on all desktops.
I know that is not what we want, but at least it can be used.
OneNote "Dock to Desktop" Feature Uses Screenspace on all Virtual Desktops
I'm using the virtual desktop feature on Windows 10 and noticed that if you trigger the OneNote "Dock to Desktop" feature, the screen space consumed on the side of the screen persists through all virtual desktops. How can I avoid that? For example, docking OneNote on virtual desktop 1 will make virtual desktop 2 consume limited screen space. I can see OneNote on desktop 1, but not on desktop 2. I want OneNote to consume screen space on only one virtual desktop...instead of all of them.
This question has also been asked on answers.microsoft.com, and the only response was to instead post the question here on technet.
I am using the desktop edition of OneNote, rather than the UWP "OneNote for Windows 10". I suspect my desktop edition is 2016, but it has no option to tell me the version.
