From a client perspective Azure Media Services supports video streaming over the adaptive streaming protocols MPEG-DASH, HLS, and Smooth Streaming. All can be streamed over HTTP or HTTPS from a Media Services streaming endpoint. These adaptive streaming protocols are playable in common JavaScript based players such as Azure Media Player (https://aka.ms/ampdocs), Video.js (https://videojs.com/), as well as others listed on https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/media-services/latest/player-media-players-concept. FYI, on the ingest side for live, the RTMP and fMP4 (Smooth Streaming) protocols are supported.
