CCM - TsmBootstrap.exe - Application Error during Task Sequence

Hi All,

I have been getting this TsmBootrap.exe error in my SCCM Task Sequences for a while, and can't figure out how to eliminate it. It always pops up in the Task Sequence just before the first reboot after the OS has installed. I just click "OK" and the Task Sequence resumes and finishes successfully, all drivers and apps install successfully as well, this just seems to be a nuisance and doesn't cause the TS to crash or fail or anything. This is only a nuisance because if I am not present to hit "ok", it will sit at this error window until it is finally acknowledged and only then will it continue the TS successfully.

I have tried creating brand new Task Sequences, disabling the drivers and all app installation steps, using different boot images for different models of computers, but this keeps happening. I do have the smsts.log and have attached it here. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

    Hi @AJ Hawkes ,

1, What is the SCCM version are you using? Have you upgraded it recently?

2, What is the OS version you are deploying? Please try to deploy a different OS.

3, Have you made any modifications to the boot image? I have down some research. We can try to reload the boot image this issue may be resolved.

    Hi @AJ Hawkes ,

1, The screenshot shows the logs you provided. Please help confirm that whether the error was occurred from 5:17 PM to 6:52 PM?

2, According to the screenshot you provided, the boot image version is 10.0.14393.0; this is the boot image used by the ADK 1607. What version of ADK are you using? For SCCM v2107, I recommended that you use Windows ADK for Windows 10 version 2004. Large ADK version differences may cause problems.
Besides, according to your description, I know that the boot image you use has been modified. Have you tried using the SCCM default boot image? Is the same problem occurring? By default, during site installation, Configuration Manager automatically adds boot images that are based on a WinPE version from the supported version of the Windows ADK.

3, Please help confirm that your client has applied the correct boot image during the PXE boot process. We can confirm it based on the image ID.

4, If the client does not use the correct boot image during the PXE boot process. Please help check the Task Sequence properties, whether the correct boot image is specified on Use a boot image box.
