I am planning to self-publish a book that I wrote using Microsoft Word and I use fonts such as Times New Roman, Cambria, Calibri, and I plan to sell by paperback printing. But I read somewhere that these fonts are not free for commercial use (I am not sure). I also read somewhere that when you buy your laptop with Microsoft office you are technically licensed to use them (My Microsoft is Office Home & Student). So can someone please explain these to me because I really hope I don't need to edit my whole book.

    Hi @Warerawa

    Welcome to Q&A forum~

I want to help you, but the font copyright and compliance issues are not supported on Q&A forum at current time.

Via searching online, I find a link 'Font redistribution FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) for Windows'. Microsoft doesn’t restrict business/enterprise users to use these fonts for commercial usage, such as selling your books using these printouts.

However you said that your are using Microsoft Office Home & Student, for further confirm, I suggest you report a concern to Microsoft directly.

    Thanks for your understandings.
