Dear Microsoft Support team, I hope this finds you well. I'm interested in enabling/using AI "copilot" feature in PowerPoint. I'm having trouble finding specific instructions on how to do so. Could you please provide me with more information on enabling the copilot feature in PowerPoint 365? Thank you for your time and assistance.

PS: I am managing multiple Microsoft 365 accounts for business and personal use. I could not find the copilot menu/button to start a chat/enter a prompt in none of them.

They are "testing" the feature before they actually roll out to everyone. Surely, they tested in before but I guess they want to be fully confident that everything works fine.

The wording here is a departure on how Microsoft normally does its introduction of future feature sets.

This is not a "We are Introducing Co-Pilot and here is how You Use it" stage product.

This is a, "We are Piloting Co-Pilot, here are the benefits of this feature." "Here is the current status.", type of product.

It would save a lot of people a lot of time if the message was clear. :)

This answer is, in terms of helpfulness is slightly above the MS arm-waving spin in some kind of competitive positioning attempt. Alternatively, I would say: "Availability: (date/month/year) Price: $.__)"

As a practicing systems engineer, my interest in anything new or promising for my planning, development, design, etc.: Technical product or service description, (datasheet), price, and availability. Given Thumbs up across this information radar, the process of moving from information tsunami to knowledge base starts burning valuable resources. Time, Labor $$, brain power.

I have the same question, I was under impression that the feature was rolled out already and I was planning to have internal staff meetings to train them on it but when I searched for it, I couldn't find it.

This is disappointing. As of April, 2023, Microsoft is testing Copilot, not introducing Copilot to the market. It's just so eager to be first that it misled everybody.

Chat GPT was introduced and made available. Google bard has been introduced, and there is a waiting list. Designer has been introduced, and there is also a waiting list. Copilot is unavailable.

a new low in microsoft intrusive behavior. Not enough space on Winders 11-1/2 taskbar as it is. All of a sudden a day or two ago this appeared on left next to search icon. what the heck is "Pre? how did that little graphic come to grace my taskbar? How do I get rid of it? Right click causes it to shrink and blink, but nothing in the wa of normal right click like unpin from taskbar. But personalization settings seems to have a way to turn it off. so here goes.... Ahhh got rid of it!! Message to microsoft: stop messing with my computer. Please.

This is how you access the "AI Copilot" feature within not only Microsoft PowerPoint, but also Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Loop, OneNote, and Whiteboard as well. At this moment it is not available for general customers, this is piloted on few selected customers of Microsoft and under review, soon the release will be available for everyone so watch out for further updates and news from Microsoft.

Note from Microsoft - "We are currently testing Microsoft 365 Copilot with 20 customers, including 8 in Fortune 500 enterprises. We will be expanding these previews to customers more broadly in the coming months and will share more on new controls for IT admins so that they can plan with confidence to enable Copilot across their organizations."

It's unfortunate that Jared/Microsoft didn't choose to add that crucial piece of information about being released to only 20 customers on that blog page that you provided. Seems like that would be a very important piece of information to let everyone know, and probably caused thousands of wasted man hours looking for the answer as to "Why CoPilot wasn't showing up in Word".

And so the rich get richer. It would have been a far better test case and promotion of the product if you'd have selected a few Microsoft heavy small companies that could show instant and rapid growth with the use of the product. At the very least some F500 for scale and some of the little people for growth. We have 50 schools in South Africa that use our SIS built purely from Microsoft product and we integrate with and service them with all their Microsoft needs and are massive Microsoft advocates. Being ahead on this would have given us a massive boost and have been a fantastic test case and proof of concept for growth through increased productivity and efficiency with the use of Copilot.

Microsoft clearly misled people to believe that this is a feature we all have with our copy of Microsoft 365. They use influencers to distill this message. They all fail to share this valuable piece of information. This only shows how corrupt influencer marketing is.

i want specific information about the launch of that bot and how long it will take. you can't annouce it and then be quiet about it for so long. i want to explore it and try it out, it would save so much time.

please let more beta customers try it out.

At this moment, Microsoft 365 Copilot is not available for general customers. It is currently being tested with a few selected customers of Microsoft and will be released for everyone soon. So if you don’t see the Copilot button on your Office 365 online apps, don’t worry. Keep an eye out for further updates and news from Microsoft.

I got a confirmation mail that said "YOU'RE IN". But there's no way to activate the feature yet, and it's not showing up anywhere in any application from the 365 suite. I wonder why Microsoft would give confirmation mails and not give the ability to actually use the feature?
