Hi,

As of recently we have been experiencing a lot of issues signing users into the OneDrive Sync app.

On our Windows Server 2019 environment with FSLogix installed to manage profile disks, users are suppose to log in and have OneDrive automatically sign in and sync their Windows Known Folders. This was working as intended for several months until 22nd March 2023.

Users now receive an error 'OneDrive failed to sign in'. When clicking on the OneDrive Sync app to proceed with Sign in users are presented with the following error:

OneDrive Error 1001

OneDrive Error 0x8004e4be

I cannot find any resources related to the above two error codes/messages.

Upon investigating the FSLogix Logs, affected users have the following logs in the ODFC container:

OneDrive ODFC Registry Missing

Here are the steps I have tried to resolve the issue but continue to receive the errors described above:

1.       Run wsreset.exe

2.       Run %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

3.       Run C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

4.       Run C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

5.       ‘Unlink this PC’

6.       Removing windows credentials associated with OneDrive for Business.

7.       Deleting OneDrive cache.

8.       Uninstalling and re-installing OneDrive using the /allusers flag.

9.       Enabling TLS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2

10.   Restoring server from a previous backup.

11.   Deleting users ODFC disk container.

12.   Deleting and rebuilding a users entire profile container.

13.   Installing the latest FSLogix Hotfix (2.9.8440.42104) and enabling RoamIdentity.

Started getting reports of the same/similar problem yesterday.

Users having to sign back into their Microsoft accounts because Outlook showing "Need Password". They try to sign back in and they get the 1001 error. 3 users out of 65 so far.

Everything has been working fine up until now.

We use Windows Server 2019, RDS with User Profile disks.

I've noticed there are other reports on Reddit etc. with people having the same problem - it must be a problem at Microsoft's end.
