Hi,

iam using a powerbi dashboard which is connected live to a azure analysis services tabular model. Initially i pinned a specific tile on dashboard and create a new dashboard out of it. After doing this i was able to setup alerting with the condition of hourly notification. The new dashboard which i created will be updated once a hour since the underlying dataset is configured to refresh once a hour. As i was testing i switched the refresh of the dataset to off and now iam not able to switch it on again. It is greyed out now. The data is in the cloud so i don't need a gateway. The tile dashboard will not be updated now, this is very confusing since the connection is in live mode. Why is this happening and what can i do to solve it?

Kind regards

Gökhan

Are you sure you have the required permissions to manage the dataset refresh settings? Lack of proper permissions can result in options being greyed out.

Otherwise, if you have switched to a live connection mode, scheduled refreshes are typically disabled, since the data is expected to be up to date with the underlying source. Live connections generally pull data directly from the source system rather than refreshing at a scheduled interval.

Assuming it is a live connection, ensure that the Azure Analysis Services model itself is being processed/refreshed as expected. If the model isn't refreshing, it could lead to the Power BI dashboard not showing updated data.

    Hi Gökhan Demirci ,

Thankyou for your engagement with Microsoft Q&A platform.

As per my understanding, your query is regarding the potential PowerBI bug because of which you are not able to use the refresh button of the dataset.

I would like to encourage you to post your query directly on PowerBI official forum: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Power-BI-Community/ct-p/powerbi
