I want to know if it is possible to link Power Point to some other office (or third party) software to update the pictures in power point. For example I would like to have a picture that I would replace every day and it automatically goes into the power point presentation in its designated slide. Is this possible??

    Hi @dylan mack,

Yes, it is possible to update pictures in PowerPoint automatically using third-party software. One way to achieve this is by using PowerPoint Automation Services in SharePoint, which allows for server-side presentation conversions to and from a variety of file formats. Another option is to use PowerPoint add-ins to add dynamic HTML5 content or bring in reference information to your presentations. Additionally, PowerPoint for the web allows you to work with presentations directly on the website where the presentation is stored. However, the specifics of how to link PowerPoint to a third-party software to automatically update pictures would depend on the software being used.

IF your presentation is running from a local hard drive and you can keep your images in the same folder as the presentation, all you need to do (assuming Windows, not Mac) is click the v arrow next to the INSERT button when you're adding your images and choose to either Link or Link & Embed. The latter is more robust.

When PPT opens your file, it'll check to see if the image file has changed and if so, will update it in your presentation.

This doesn't seem to work with files stored on OneDrive/SharePoint though.
