How to avoid duplicate push notifications in Viva Connections Mobile for multilingual news in SharePoint Online?

Question

Currently a publishing of a news page generates a push notification in Viva Connections Mobile (Roadmap Item ID: 98112). If an editor publishes a multilingual (language1 and language2) news page in SharePoint Online , Viva Connections generates two push notifications to readers:

• one notification for news page in language 1
• one notification for news page in language 2

Readers are receiving both push notifications. This is odd behavior. How to configure it as an admin or simple disable the push notifications in Viva Connections Mobile for news?

To avoid duplicate push notifications for multilingual news in SharePoint Online, you can use the SharePoint multilingual feature to create dashboards in more than one language. This article: Set up the Viva Connections experience in a specific language provides detailed steps on how to set up the Viva Connections experience in a specific language other than your organization’s default language. By using this feature, you can ensure that users only receive notifications for the news posts that match their preferred language setting in Microsoft 365.

Also, there doesn't seem to be a setting to disable the push notifications in Viva Connections Mobile for news.

Notifications can't be selectively enabled or disabled, but users can toggle push notifications in Teams mobile for all apps (including Viva Connections) under Settings > Notifications > General Activity > Apps on Teams.
